Thomas Barth was born in Vienna in 1965. He studied piano and composition in Austria, Denmark and the USA including master classes with Herbie Hancock at the Mozarteum\/ Salzburg 1987 and with „Weather Report“ founder Joe Zawinul at the „Wiener Meisterkurse“, Vienna 1992. Studio\/ Live collaborations including Beat4Feet , Stray Dog Music, Electric Diamond, Brand Nubian, Deodato (Vienna Jazz Festival 2002, State Opera<\/a>) and his own projects in Vienna and New York. 2007: Producer (CD) of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera „Nabucco“, recorded live at the open air- festival in St. Margarethen\/ Austria.\u00a0Since Sommer 2014: member of „Jazztrio.at<\/a>“ (Thomas Barth, p; Christoph Petschina resp. Johannes Strasser, bass; Wolfgang Wehner, drums). CD’s: „Weihnachtsalbum“ (2015), „Sommeralbum“ (release: Sommer 2016).\u00a0CDs as a leader: (coming up): „Three Streams And A River“ with Chris Minh Doky (bass) and Ian Froman (drums), rec. in Copenhagen.<\/p>\n

2003: „Beyond Black & White“ Solo Piano 2 CDs, rec. in Austria.<\/p>\n

2001: „Seven Worlds“, featuring Mike Stern, Craig Handy, Gerald Veasley, Mike Baker and Evan Tate, rec. in NYC.<\/p>\n

Other works (excerpts): Film music for the 95 min. documentary „Wer hat Angst vor Wilhelm Reich“\/ „Who is afraid of Wilhelm Reich“ (2009, directed by Antonin Svoboda).<\/p>\n

Other: Since 2012, Barth holds a doctorate in psychotherapy sciences from\u00a0 Sigmund Freud Privatuniversit\u00e4t Vienna (SFU) and runs a psychotherapy practice (method: Psychoanalysis) in 1090 Vienna (www.drbarth.at<\/a>).<\/p>\n
